Step into our home! Our doors are pretty standard, but there is a particularity about the handles which needs some explanation.
Front door
The door can be locked by pulling up the handle from outside as well as inside. In its locked state, you need the key to open it even from the inside. To be careful about potential fire hazards, we almost never lock the door via the handle from the inside, but rather with the additional latch above the handle.
Back door
Our back door leads to our garden. When the weather is nice, we often open both doors to enlarge our living space. To lock the door, pull up the handle and then turn the key. The handle cannot be pushed down when the door is locked.
